Two different pressure regulator springs are provided in the kit, with specific instructions for their use. There is no difference other than the name. Reinstall all the parts in the same order in which they were removed. The pan may be stuck to the gasket, especially if a cork gasket was used on the last assembly. Remove the plate that holds the Step 1: Remove all of the valve body bolts except for one bolt near the center. Build it yourself, you know that there were no shortcuts taken. When a suitable core is located it must be stripped, cleaned and inspected for cracks and stripped threads. The springs can be mixed and matched for custom upshift points from earliest to latest. Some high-performance converters are also set up for larger bolts than the factory converters.

You can install the valve body with the S-link on the manual valve or you can remove the spring spacer on the manual shaft, which allows the range selector rooster comb to move out of the way to install the S-link after the valve body install.
Even when the selector is left in the Low position, the transmission does not upshift until you move the shift lever. Use a large flat file for mildly warped plates, just be sure the plate is flat and sanded smooth before installation. Drive the vehicle and road test. You do not want the gasket to slip out of position because this can result in poor transmission function once it is placed back in service. Once all the springs are installed in the valve body, take a few minutes with a small flat-blade screwdriver and check the movement of each valve.
